PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a character to quickly participate in the same game according to a demand of a player. SOLUTION: When the player inputs a condition of the other player character for uniting a part with one's own player character (Step S405), inputted condition information is transmitted to a game server from a video game machine 103a (Step S406). The game server receiving this information retrieves a character having character data coincident with the condition information from a character data holder group on the basis of the condition information (Step S502). A list of a coincident character is transmitted to the video game machine 103a on the basis of a retrieving result (Step S503). The player can select the other player character for uniting the party from this list.
