<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the interval of wire bonding pads on an LED chip becomes very narrow as the resolution of an LED head is enhanced to cause lowering of production yield, and a problem that the data for correcting the quantity of light of each LED element must be transmitted simultaneously with print data because it can not be held in a driver IC, and thereby high speed processing of the LED head is difficult. SOLUTION: Occupation area of memory cells in a driver IC holding the data for correcting the quantity of light of each LED element is reduced by sharing 4 significant bits of quantity of light correction data between adjacent elements utilizing the fact that it varies continuously for the position of the LED elements and allotting only 1 bit to each dot. Furthermore, means for selecting a specific correction data storing means corresponding to an element being driven from a plurality of correction data storing means depending on the combination of first and second electrodes is provided.</p> |
