1292601 Medicines comprising bis-chromone compounds FISONS PHARMACEUTICALS Ltd 10 Oct 1969 [30 Oct 1968] 51421/68 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions suitable for treatment of diseases caused by antigen-antibody reaction, including asthma, hay-fever, and urticaria, comprises bis-chromone-2-carboxylic acid compounds of formula (I): in which P to T and P<SP>1</SP> to T<SP>1</SP> may each denote H or substituents, R<SP>1</SP> groups denote H, C 1-10 alkoxy, alkyl or aryl, optionally substituted, and -X- denotes a carbon to carbon bond or a single atom which may carry substituents, e.g. -X- may be -O-, -S-, substituted sulphur, -NH- (optionally substituted), -CH 2 - or substituted -CH 2 -, and functional derivatives thereof, as active ingredient in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent, in forms suitable for administration orally, by inhalation, parenterally or topically. The compositions may also include broncho-dilators such as isoprenaline, adrenaline, orciprenaline, isoetharine and derivatives thereof.
