PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in high sensitivity and fast responsiveness in which crystallization of a charge transfer substance in a photosensitive layer can be suppressed even when the amount of the charge transfer substance added is increased. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating substance, a charge transfer substance and a binder resin on a conductive supporting body, the charge transfer substance contains at least a pair of low molecular weight organic compounds consisting of a hole transfer substance or an electron transfer substance. The pair of compounds are represented by such molecular formulae that the units of aromatic groups possessing the respective molecular ends in the compounds are identical to each other and that the portions between the units of aromatic groups on both molecular ends differ from each other.
