PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of a reactive gas from a gap. SOLUTION: The new structure of a cell module comprises a proton exchange membrane fuel cell consisting of an anode dipole plate, a cathode dipole plates and a membrane electrode assembly held therebetween. The membrane electrode assembly held substantially in the central portion between the anode and cathode dipole plates has a preset of silicone rubber applied to a circumferential portion between the anode and cathode dipole plates, using a programmed robot arm. After curing, the anode and cathode dipole plates are sealed elastically and positioned with preset compression to form an integrated cell module.
