PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic watermark information embedding device and method therefor and an electronic watermark information reproducing device and method therefor capable of embedding and reproducing watermark information with high detecting precision, even when a picture in which the electronic watermark information is embedded is segmented and deformed. SOLUTION: A pattern switch unit 15 inputs fixed pattern bits generated by a fixed pattern number generator 14 to an exclusive OR unit 12 based on the address information of the position, where watermark embedment data should be embedded from an embedment position specifying unit 16. At the time of performing the logical arithmetic operation of the fixed pattern bits and the prescribed unit specific bits of picture original data, the specific bits are changed so that a preliminarily decided specific value can be set. Then, the embedment position specifying unit 16 supplies a random number value through the pattern switch unit 15 to the exclusive OR unit 12. At the reproduction side, at the time of performing the logical operation of the fixed pattern bits and the prescribed unit specific bits of the picture original data, when the preliminarily decided specific value is set, it is judged as the position where the electronic watermark information is embedded. |
