PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it unnecessary to manufacture a new IC chip to try to manufacture an electronic medium again each time an application is updated by using a non-contact IC having a multi-application function in a portable electronic medium. SOLUTION: This portable electronic medium 10 having a non-contact IC is a portable electronic medium carrying a non-contact ID while a plurality of application can be mounted on the non-contact IC so that the non-contact IC can correspond to a multi-application, can download an additional application to be needed by the holding of the electronic medium from a personal computer and from a street terminal by making a portion of a memory area to be a free memory area. In this case, the additional application may be downloaded by eliminating a portion of the application to be loaded to secure a free memory area. The electronic medium 10 can also be provided with a liquid crystal display device 12 and a solar battery 11. |
