PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating an electronic component mounting apparatus, by which the decrease in operational rate of an apparatus can be prevented to improve productivity. SOLUTION: If a defective suction nozzle is detected, use of the nozzle is stopped, and the nozzle is automatically replaced by the same type of suction nozzle, or the operation is automatically switched to another mounting head, mounted with the same type of nozzle as the defective nozzle, to continue mounting operation. Furthermore, when the operation is different from a mounting program, another mounting program is created automatically by an automatic programming software, and the program is switched to new one so as to execute mounting operation of high productivity. |
