PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera incorporating a magneto-optical disk drive that suppresses a temperature rise of a magneto-optical disk. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with a photographing lens barrel 13 projected toward a front of a camera main body, an image pickup means 27 that converts an object image transmitted through the photographing lens barrel 13 into electronic image information, a projection section 12 that is projected in front of the camera main body from a side face of the camera main body and integrally configured with a grip section, a driver 21 that is placed inside of the projection section and records/reproduces image information to/from a removable magneto-optical disk, and an electric board 21d that is placed apart from the driver and on which drive/control electric components of the driver are mounted. The driver is placed perpendicularly to the optical axis of the lens barrel and the face of the magneto-optical disk of the driver is placed nearly in parallel with the optical axis of the lens barrel and nearly perpendicularly to a bottom face of the camera main body. |
