PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electrical component, capable of sharing the parts without replacing all of electrical component according to the type of an electrical component, even if the type of the electrical component is different. SOLUTION: In an IC socket 11, a socket body 15 is provided with a contact pin 20, electrically connecting a land part 12b of an IC package 12 and a circuit board P. The socket body 15 has a lower plate 16, disposed on the circuit board P, and an upper plate 17 disposed on the lower plate 16 for placing the IC package 12 thereon. The upper plate 17 is replaceable with one different in height of a seating part 17d where the IC package 12 abuts to be placed.
