PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for throwing away a document and a filing system for canceling a nuisance in reading an image. SOLUTION: The filing system consists of a device 101 for throwing away a document and of a filing device. The device 101 for throwing away a document is provided with rollers 301 for taking-in a paper document to be thrown away, CCDs 303 for reading the image of the taken-in paper document, a heater 306 and a heat insulating means 307 for making the printed characters and the plotting image of the paper document whose image is read to be unreadable, an unreadable document storing part 309 for storing the unreadable paper document and a network controller 316 for transmitting the read image via a communication medium. The filing device is connected with the device 101 through a communication medium and is provided with a display part for receiving the read image which is transmitted from the device 101, storing a reception image and displaying the stored reception image by a request from a user.
