PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital information receiving device which can receives efficiently-transmitted and bit-compressed video information and audio information and restores the video information and audio information while correcting even errors generated during the transmission. SOLUTION: The transmit signal generated from a video signal through bit compression by discrete cosine conversion and further four-phase modulation is received four-phase demodulation is performed, and the errors generated during the transmission are corrected by using an error correction code; and the bit-compressed video signal is expanded by using discrete cosine reverse conversion, the audio signal also has its bits expanded, and the video signal and audio signal are outputted. Consequently, the video information and audio information can efficiently be received.
