PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color image forming apparatus by which high-speed processing is attained. SOLUTION: The operation of a shutter by which bristle cutting is performed is started only by advancing time T1 earlier than the completion time of developing operation, so that a developing roller is stopped earlier by shortened time T2. In accordance with the early completion of developing processing, processing speed is improved.
