PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube for a projection TV is provided to efficiently remove remaining electrons to improve luminescence characteristic and life time. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube for a projection TV comprises a panel(10), a funnel, an electron gun, a phosphor film(12), a first conductive film(18) and a second conductive film(30). The phosphor film(12) is formed on the inner surface of the panel(10). The first conductive film(18) is formed over the phosphor film(12). The second conductive film(30) is formed between the inner surface of the panel(10) and the phosphor film(12). The conductive film(30) is made of transparent conductive material having a transmittance of about more than 85% for transmitting light emitted from the phosphor film(12). As the transparent conductive material for the second conductive film(30), In2O3, SnO2, or ITO is used.
