PURPOSE: Provided is a spinning-reel spool to be movable back and forth with respect to the reel unit, which is light in weight while securing sufficient interior space in the spool. CONSTITUTION: The spool(4) for use in a spinning reel shifts back and forth with respect to a reel body of the spinning reel, wherein a frontward direction is a direction away from the reel body and a rearward direction is a direction toward the reel body. The spool includes: a bobbin trunk portion(7a) formed from sheet metal for receiving a fishing line which is windable about an outer circumference of the bobbin trunk(7a); an inner barrel member(7c) having a front end and rear end installed inner-peripherally along the bobbin trunk portion, and having a male-threaded portion(7j) on an end; a front flange portion(8) provided on a front end of the bobbin trunk portion(7a); and a skirt portion(7b) having a diameter larger than a diameter of the bobbin trunk portion(7a).
