COATED OPTICAL FIBER, OPTICAL FIBER TAPE CORE USING IT AND OPTICAL FIBER UNIT

A coated optical fiber comprising n layers (n, integer of at least 2) of UV-curing resin spread over a quartz glass optical fiber, wherein a total of shrinkage stress indexes FI in respective n layers of UV-curing resin defined by the following expression is up to 3 [N]: FI [N] = (Young modulus [Mpa]of UV-curing resin layer at -40 DEG C) x (sectional area [mm<2>] of the UV-curing resin layer) x (effective linear expansion coefficient [10<-6>/ DEG C] DIVIDED 10<6>) x (temperature difference 190 [ DEG C]). The coated optical fiber can satisfactorily prevent deterioration in transmission characteristics under a low-temperature environment.
