COMPUTER PROGRAM COPY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

An ID (MID) is given to an optical disk, a content is enciphered by using a content key, and the ciphered content is recorded. A system server device manages, as user entry information, the client ID of a client terminal, the HDD-ID of an HDD, and MC-ID of a memory card all of which a user has. When the user copies a content, the user sends the MID of the optical disk and the MC-ID to the system server device. The system server device collates the MC-ID with the user entry information to identify the user and sends as a reply the content key used when the content is enciphered. The user deciphers the content recorded in an optical disk by means of the sent content key and copies it in an HDD. Thus, only the authenticated user who has a storage medium is permitted to copy the content.
