Locating leaks in base of foundations in pressing groundwater by determining propagation time of sound generated by flowing water

Noise generated by the flow of water through the leeks is monitored, and the location of the leek is determined. A microphone or hydrophone is placed in the ground material above the base of the foundations, and/or on or in the base. The location is determined by evaluating the propagation times of sound irregularities, or distance-dependent sound intensities.
