Potentiator for neurotrophin effect

A method for the treatment or prophylaxis of diseases treatable or preventable by potentiating the effect of a neurotrophin by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a 6(5H)-phenanthridinone derivative represented by the formula (I): wherein R1, R1', R2 and R2' are each independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and a halogen atom; and one of R3 and R3' represents an amino group and the other represents a hydrogen atom.
