The invention relates to a textile machine comprising a band channel (2) arranged in a rotating plate (1) for a cycloid-shaped deposit of a fibre band in a can. The band channel (2) is characterised in that the cross-section thereof is divided into a guiding cross-section (4) and a remaining cross-section (5). The invention also relates to a method for guiding a fibre band within a band channel (2), characterised in that the tensioning of the fibre band is such that the fibre band extends in a guiding cross-section (4) in the band channel (2).
