PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a veneer for a decorative sheet of a novel pattern made of a natural wood as a stock, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the veneer for the decorative sheet comprises (a) a step of preparing the required number of veneers of two or more types of different wood type having a large difference of three attributes of colors and similar woody properties, (b) a step of forming a rugged curved surface state corresponding to a rugged curved surface on the veneer by inserting the veneer of the different wood type between a pair of upper and lower pressing dies by using the pair of the upper and lower dies having die surfaces of the rugged curved surfaces corresponding to an object pattern and die pressing, (c) a step of laminating an adhesive via the veneers in combination of the pressed veneers in a predetermined order, disposing the veneers between the upper and lower dies of the press mold and pressing the veneers, and (d) a step of forming the veneer having the novel pattern in a desired thickness by cutting the laminate obtained by pressing in a direction perpendicularly crossed with a surface of the laminate. The veneer for the decorative sheet obtained by the method.
