Production of a molded body (29) comprises applying a powder layer selectively to regions of the surface of the molded body using an application device (34); and fixing the applied powder layer to a layer lying underneath using a focussed laser beam. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the production of a molded body by selective laser welding. Preferred Features: The application device is positioned over the surface of the molded body and moved several times.
