PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out accurate automatic adjustment of the amplitude and the offset of an output signal of an encoder even if the output signal does not reach one cycle. SOLUTION: This automatic adjustment device has: a correction signal detection means for detecting the motions of multiple output signals outputted from the encoder 500 and having phases different from one another to determine and detect the maximum value or the minimum value of the respective output signals at every half-cycle; a correction calculation means for calculating the amplitudes and the offsets of the respective output signals by the maximum value and the minimum value detected for the respective output signals by the correction signal detection means to calculate correction amounts for the specified values of the amplitudes and the offsets; a first calculation part 10 and a third calculation part 20 of an amplitude correction means for adjusting the amplitudes of the respective output signals based on the calculation output of the correction calculation means; and a second calculation part 12 and a fourth calculation part 24 of an offset correction means for adjusting the offsets of the respective output signals, based on the calculation output of the correction calculation means.
