PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the durability of the equipment so as to raise operation accuracy in a hook control unit for a jacquard machine in which lift members each equipped with a hook on the lower end are arranged in a line in a vertically movable manner in the control unit body, each of the lift members is hooked on knives alternately ascending and descending left and right of the member to undergo vertical motion, a changeover between a position hooking to the lift member and a position not hooking thereto by swinging the hook by the action of a piezoelectric actuator, and a choice is made between the lift member descending with the knife and that not descending to ensure a warp to be. SOLUTION: In this hook control unit each of lift members is provided with engagement parts on a hook in upper and lower tires corresponding to the shedding level of a warp, a pair of right and left pawls made swingable downward are pivoted on the lift member and the tip of each of the pawls is impelled inward, the control unit body is disposed with a pressing body functioning to project the tip of the pawl outward on butting against the rear end of the pawl when the lift member is faced on an upper dead point side and a pressing body functioning to project the tip of the pawl outward on butting against the tip side of the pawl when the lift member is faced on a lower dead point side, and a plate functioning to slightly lift the member for resetting it just before the next shedding motion.
