PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing structure for vehicle including an interior ornamental plate made of synthetic resin in which the appearance of the interior ornamental plate can be well secured while its vibratory welding to a shock absorbing plate is left practicable even if no welding ribs are provided on the interior ornamental plate. SOLUTION: The shock absorbing structure for vehicle is configured so that shock absorbing plate 4 is joined with the rear surface of the interior ornamental plate 3 made of synthetic resin, in which at least core of the plate 4 is made of foaming resin, and welding ribs 15 to be welded vibratorily to the rear surface of the interior ornamental plate 3 is formed rigidly on the shock absorbing plate 4. Thereby the ornamental plate 3 free of welding rib can avoid shrinkage at its surface at the time of being molded, and even at recycling of materials, it is possible to omit any sorting operation of the ornamental plate 3 and shock absorbing plate 4.
