PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press fitting device which makes the connection quality of peripheral circuit substrate such as TCP substrate to a terminal part of a liquid crystal display panel by thermocompression bonding. SOLUTION: The peripheral circuit substrate 3 for driving liquid crystal is placed over a terminal part 1a of the liquid crystal display panel 1 through a thermocompression bonding electric connective means 2 such as anisotropic conductive film, a heater head 21 is lowered and the peripheral circuit substrate 3 is pressurized and connected to the terminal part 1a. Thereupon, the lowering speed of the heater head 21 is detected by a speed detecting means 30 and a head driving means 20 is controlled so as to minimize an impact load applied to the hot pressing electric connective means 2 by means of CPU 40 in accordance with the speed detection signal.
