PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical collimator which can obtain stable optical coupling characteristics by reducing the variation of the relative position of a lens and an optical fiber tip surface caused by the change of ambient temperature. SOLUTION: In the optical collimator in which the optical fiber tip surface is placed at the focal point of the lens, the lens is fixed to a lens holder tip part by using low-melting glass, the bare fiber of the optical fiber is inserted into, bonded to, and fixed to a ferrule whose coefficient of thermal expansion is almost equal to that of the bare fiber, the ferrule is pressed and fixed into a ferrule holder, and the ferrule folder is caulked and fixed to the lens holder.
