PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium and a recording reproducing apparatus which enable stable formation of an amorphous mark over the whole surface of the medium by changing a method of modulation of laser power in the radial zone of the recording medium having a specific constitution of components, in order to solve the usual problem that insufficient crystallization of the rear end of the amorphous mark in the outer periphery where linear velocity is high causes trailing of the rear end of the mark in phase change recording in the cases of CAV and ZCAV systems. SOLUTION: In regard to an optical recording medium having a phase change type optical recording layer at least, the optical recording medium having the phase change type recording layer which is constituted mainly of Sb(x)-Te(y) wherein x/y=1 to 4 and contains at least one element selected from the group of B, Al, Si, Ga, Ge, Ag, In, Sn, Ba, La, Au, Bi and Gd as an additional element is made the main in the constitution. |
