STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE DISPLAY DEVICE AND STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic picture display device and a stereoscopic picture display method which permits the observation of an excellent picture at all times by subjecting an engineering member to varying power in accordance with an observing position even when an observer changes the observing position and changing an observed region of a stereoscopic picture. SOLUTION: This stereoscopic picture display device is provided with a picture display element which displays the synthetic parallactic picture which synthesizes a stripe picture, a second optical system which is arranged in front of the picture display element (on the side of display surface), a mask member which is arranged in front of the second optical system and a first optical system which is arranged in front of the mask member. Therein, the display light from the upper part of the picture display element is transmitted by an opening part of the mask member through the second optical system and is guided to positions of the left and right eyes on the observation surface which are apart by a prescribed distance by the first optical system and the stereoscopic picture is visualized by the observer and the relative position between the first and second optical systems for the picture display element and the mask member is changed.
