PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of operation without causing accuracy degradation in arrival directions when the arrival directions are estimated by angle sweep such as a MUSIC method, etc. SOLUTION: This device for estimating the arrival directions of radio waves comprises a correlation matrix operator 7 for computing a correlation matrix by performing correlation operation on reception signals between antenna elements, a noise characteristic space operator 8 for computing a noise characteristic space matrix with characteristic vectors which belong to a noise characteristic space as a column or a row by decomposing the correlation matrix into characteristic values, a triangular matrix computer 9 for computing an upper or lower triangular matrix obtained by performing Cholesky decomposition on a matrix formed by the product of the noise characteristic space matrix and a matrix obtained by performing conjugate transposition on the noise characteristic space matrix, an arrival angle evaluater 10 for computing angle evaluation values over a predetermined angle range of a function for evaluating the arrival angles expressed through the use of the upper or lower triangular matrix, and an arrival angle determiner 11 for determining the arrival angles from the evaluation results of the arrival angle evaluater. |
