PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly reliable optical fiber with an yield improved by preventing the occurrence of a chip in a lens part in an optical fiber with a lens. SOLUTION: The optical fiber 1 with a lens is provided at the end thereof with a wedge-shaped lens which consists of at least a pair of tilted surfaces 2 symmetrical across the core axis A and of a tip part 3 having any of the shapes of a curved surface, of a plane or an acute angled at the tip part of the tilted surfaces 2. Chamfers 4 are formed at the boundary part between the tip part 3 and the circumferential surface 5 of the optical fiber. |
