PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in conventional connection of a manhole and a mounting pipe that much man-hour and much time and labor are required in the connection and a water leakage is likely to occur. SOLUTION: A flexible joint consists of a joint body 10 constituted such that it forms a ringlike rubber-made body part 11 by extending a thin wall part 13 outward and horizontally from an outer collar face of a thick wall part 12 in which a back-up ring 14 is buried, a back-up member 15 extended inward and horizontally from an inner peripheral face, coming into contact with an outer peripheral face of the mounting pipe 3 elastically, and made of sponge rubber is provided on an inner peripheral face of the thick wall part 12, a water swelling rubber 16 is provided on an outer peripheral face of the thick wall part 12, and furthermore, a water swelling sponge rubber 17 coming into contact with the outer peripheral face of the mounting pipe 3 elastically is provided on an inner peripheral face of the thin wall part 13, a hose band 20 tightening the thin wall part 13 of the joint body 10, and a sheetlike filler 30 wound across the hose band 20 of the thin wall part 13 and the mounting pipe 3 and made of sponge rubber.
