PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily center a small lens without losing the same. SOLUTION: This lens centering device having an optical centering system providing for grinding on the outer periphery of a lens comprises a lens holder 2 for holding a lens 1, a lens holding shaft 3 for detachably holding the lens holder 2 to be rotated, an offset detector 26 for detecting an offset between the optical axis of the lens 1 and the axis of rotation of the lens holding shaft 3 and a movement adjuster 4 supported by the lens holding shaft 3 for adjusting the movement of the lens holder 2 in directions perpendicular to and inclining to the axis of rotation of the lens holding shaft 3. The lens holder 2 is detachable from the lens holding shaft 3 in the condition of mounting the lens 1.
