A paintball feed system 10 comprises flexible detent/catch beams 32a,b that flex about first and second support points 33,34 such that they allow a paintball 22a to pass from a hopper 18 into a feed tube 12 leading to a paintball marker's breech 16 under it's own weight when flexing about the first support point 33. The beams 32a,b are rigid enough, when flexing about the second support pint 34, to prevent the return of the paintball 22a back into the hopper 18 from the feed tube 12. A cylindrical collar (38, Fig 4) comprising a cylindrical inner lip (39) at its midpoint, complete with detent beams (40a,b) and support points (42,44) can be fitted between marker feed tube (48) and hopper (50). The collar (54, Fig 5), may also be threadably engaged with an annular sleeve (58). Alternatively the exit opening (69, Fig 6) may comprise detent beams (72a,b) and may be connected to marker feed tube (76). In Fig 8, the hopper (78) having an exit tube (81) with detent beams (79a,b) is threadably connected to marker feed tube (84) via sleeve portion (82). In all cases, as paintballs exit the hopper, they effectively stack in the distance between the breech floor (52, 64, 86) and the detent beams (40a,b, 56a,b, 72a,b and 79a,b).
