PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a heating probe which can detect heat information on a size of several nm of a sample, by which a hole diameter formed in a heat recording medium can be made extremely small at several nm and which can realize a high-density recording operation. SOLUTION: The heating probe 19 is constituted of a conductive nanotube probe 10 whose base bend 10b is fixed to a holder 8 and whose tip 10a protrudes, a heating element 15 which is formed on the circumferential face of the probe 10, a conductive nanotube wire 16 which is fixed to the heating element 15, and a means which electrifies both ends of the wire 16 and the probe 10. The heating element 15 is electrified, and the tip 10c of the probe 10 is heated. The heating probe device 26 is constituted of the heating probe 19, a scanning mechanism which scans and heating probe 19 with reference to the heat recording medium 22, and control circuit C which heats the tip 10c of the probe 10.
