PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage facility capable of storing radioactive waste stably for a long period and its construction method. SOLUTION: The storage facility 1 for storing radioactive waste consists of a container frame 2 containing radioactive waste, a species barrier structure 3 surrounding the container frame and an outer shell structure 4 surrounding the species barrier structure. To the upper part of the container frame, a plurality of carbon fiber strand 5 are attached to be able to hang down so that the outer shell structure is made not to contact the container frame.
