PURPOSE: A device for transferring materials is provided to prevent the surface of materials from being damaged and to prevent a transfer arm from being loaded. CONSTITUTION: A device for transferring materials comprises a cylindrical transfer roller(5) with innumerable pores, caps(8) making the transfer roller supported to a structure(6) by bearings(7), a fluid supply pipe(9) applying high pressure fluid to the inside of the transfer roller, to form a fluid film on the surface of the transfer roller, and a driving unit driving the transfer roller. The cap is coupled at both ends of the transfer roller. The fluid supply pipe is connected with at least a cap to be communicated. Materials are transferred to in-process with not directly contacted with the transfer roller, and the surface of material is prevented from being damaged. Moreover, the transfer arm is prevented from being loaded because friction force is given by the fluid film.
