A wheel 34, which in use rolls on unploughed land, is rotatably mounted on an arm 28 pivotally mounted to the frame for vertical or substantially vertical swinging movement and power transmission means, as shown in the form of hydraulic ram 39, 43, connected between the frame 20 and the arm 28 is used to raise and lower the rear end of the plough frame. Steering linkage responsive to the lateral swinging of the frame in use connects the tractor to the wheel 34 and comprises a motion transmitting member, e.g. lever 63 pivoted intermediate its ends to the frame on bearings 62, and a link 66 which is connected to the wheel, as shown by arm 38 and spindle 33, and to the lever 63 on a pivot axis 64 which when the rational plane of the wheel is parallel to the direction of travel is coaxial or substantially coaxial with the pivot axis of the arm 28 so that the steering of the plough is not affected when the height of the plough is changed. The motion transmitting means, lever 63, may be connectable to the tractor by means of a second line 54 of adjustable length which is pivotally connected to arm 52 fixed to pivot pin 18 itself fixed on plates 17 mounted on draw bar 14. An adjustable stop 46-50 on the frame engages the arm 28 and determines the working depth of the plough. A strengthening truss rod 25 is also shown.
