PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily visually check necessary information in a reel for fishing having an opening and closing type display device. SOLUTION: This opening and closing water depth display device 4 is composed of a first member 4a provided integrally with a reel body 1, a second member 4b installed freely openably and closably relatively to the first member 4a and a connecting member 4c for freely shakably connecting the first member 4a to the second member 4b in the upper part of the reel body 1. The second member 4b is equipped with a first display part 5a arranged in a surface opposite to the first member 4a, a switch operating part 6 arranged in the vicinity of the first display part 5a and composed of a plurality of switches and a second display part 5b arranged in a surface without opposing to the first member 4a.
