PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum evaporation type desalting apparatus discharging concentrated raw water by suppressing the open air entrance into the apparatus without using a high head pump. SOLUTION: In the vacuum evaporation type desalting apparatus equipped with an evaporative concentrator 10 for evaporating and concentrating raw water under reduced pressure, a raw water tank 11 holding raw water under reduced pressure, a raw water replenishing passage 12, a raw water supply passage 13, a concentrated raw water reflux passage 14 and a raw water drain passage 15 are provided. When the raw water tank 11 is replenished with raw water or raw water is drained from the raw water tank 11, a raw water sending valve 17 and a concentrated raw water return valve 19 are used to cut off the raw water tank 11 and the evaporative concentrator 10 and, when raw water is supplied to the raw water tank 11 and drained therefrom and desalting operation is performed by the evaporative concentrator 10, a raw water supply valve 16 and a raw water drain valve 20 are used to cut off the raw water tank 11 from the outside and raw water is supplied to the evaporative concentrator 10 and the concentrated raw water is refluxed to the raw water tank 11.
