PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which is used in common for DVD/CD and manufactured at greatly reduced cost while maintaining special properties of small size and simple configuration realized by mounting a semiconductor laser module. SOLUTION: In an optical pickup which requires a plurality of laser beam sources like the optical pickup used in common for DVD/CD, the number of components and cost are decreased since optical detection systems can be put together in one system by using a semiconductor laser module for one of the laser beam sources and normal semiconductor laser beam sources for others, making light beams which are emitted by the normal semiconductor laser beam sources and reflected by an optical disk incident on the semiconductor laser module, and using an optical detector provided in the module as an optical detector for the laser beams emitted by the normal semiconductor laser beam sources. |
