PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact telephone set that is less expensive than a facsimile machine, capable of fax transmission reception and is provided with the functions for receiving only the required faxes documents and can compress memory capacity to essential minimum capacity. SOLUTION: The telephone set is configured with a connection device, that is mounted with a fax memory and able to connect the fax memory to an external device and with an interface having input/output function for fax information between the external device and the fax memory unidirectionally or bidirectionally via the connection device.
