PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently adjust an optical system through the use of a near-field light. SOLUTION: The optical recording and reproducing device 100 is constituted, in such a way as to record or reproduce information by irradiating a recording medium 8 with the near-field light 9, and the near-field light 9 is generated from a micro opening 15 formed in a convex lens 10. For adjusting the optical system, so that the optical intensity of the near-field light 9 becomes maximum, the optical intensity of reflected light L2 reflected in the vicinity of the micro opening 15 of the convex lens 10 is detected, and the state of arrangement of the optical system is adjusted so that the opticdal intensity of the reflected light L2 becomes minimum. |
