PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molybdenum wire which has excellent workability, and also has little deformation even after the application of heat treatment in a high and wide temperature range. SOLUTION: The molybdenum wire has a composition containing 50 to 800 ppm cobalt and 50 to 800 ppm tin, and the balance substantially molybdenum. The molybdenum wire has a wire diameter of >=0.05 mm, and the working range is preferably >=15% after the application of heat treatment in the temperature range of 1,200 to 1,700 deg.C for 5 min is >=15%. The working range is more preferably <=50%.
