PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC/DC converter in which conversion efficiency is enhanced even under a low load or no-load while sustaining reduction of the output impedance and highly efficient power conversion is realized. SOLUTION: A first charge pump circuit 1 and a second charge pump circuit 3 are driven complementarily by a first drive circuit 2A and a second drive circuit 4 to boost a DC input voltage by a factor of two. Operation of the first drive circuit 2A is stopped based on a light load decision signal, an input voltage decision signal, or an output voltage decision signal being fed to a control input terminal 8. In case of a light load, for example, the light load decision signal goes 'H' because the load has a margin. Since the first drive circuit 2A interrupts output of the drive signal, the first charge pump circuit 1 stops operation.
