PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor comprising compressing chambers on both faces of a turning scroll end plate to have a movable scroll pressed against a turning scroll side by discharging pressure of a discharging chamber for preventing a turn-over of the turning scroll. SOLUTION: A compressing part 3 is formed by the movable scroll 5 having a lap 5b engaging with one lap 4b of the turning scroll 4 to move axially, a shaft 6 for pivotally driving the turning scroll 4, and a main frame 7 having a lap 7a engaging with the other lap 4c of the turning scroll 4 and comprising a bearing 7b for bearing the shaft 6. Both the laps are engaged for forming the compressing chambers 8a, 8b independent of each other. Coolant is sucked from a suction pipe 9 to the compressing chambers for discharging compressed coolant outside from a discharging pipe 10. A stopper 11 fixed on an inner wall or a main frame 7 of a sealed container 1 for restricting move of the movable scroll 5 is mounted thereon and annular seal material 12 is mounted between the stopper 11 and the movable scroll 5.
