Mounting method for piston modules of IC engines has guide unit to guide connecting rod while moving into cylinder in mounting position next to crankshaft journal

The piston module esp. has a tilted connecting rod (13) and is pushed through an injected-sided cylinder port into an engine block (16). During this process, the connecting rod is guided into a mounting position next to the appropriate crankshaft journal (18) by a guide unit (22). The crankshaft (17) is turned to move the connecting rod into engagement on the journal. During the turning movement of the crankshaft, the connecting rod is maintained stationary pref. in a position, into which it has been moved by the guiding movement.
