PURPOSE: A tilting apparatus for a steering column is provided to improve contact by enlarging the frictional area in fixing the tilting apparatus, and to prevent deformation by distributing the contact portion. CONSTITUTION: A tilting device of a steering column is composed of a fixing bracket(40) fixed in a vehicle body; a tilting bracket(50) contacted to the fixing bracket; a tilting hinge(60) penetrating the tilting bracket and the fixing bracket, and having a threaded part in the outer periphery; a press member(70) assembled with the threaded part; a tilting lever(80) turning the press member; and inner press members(100) moving in the opposite direction by turning the tilting hinge. The tilting hinge is arranged in the tilting bracket, and an inner threaded part(63) is formed around the tilting hinge. The fixing bracket is contacted to the tilting bracket with turning the tilting hinge.
