<p>A liquid crystal display characterized in that it comprises a pixel substrate, a counter substrate opposed to the pixel substrate, and a liquid crystal layer held between the pixel substrate and the counter substrate, that the pixel substrate has source lines (301a, 301b) and gate lines (302a, 302b) crossing the source lines, a pixel electrode (304) disposed in each of the pixel regions defined by two adjacent gate lines (302a, 302b) and two adjacent source lines (301a, 301b), a switching element (303) for switching the voltage applied to the pixel electrode (304) from the source line (301a, 301b) according to the voltage of a signal inputted through the gate line (302a, 302b), an auxiliary capacitor line (308) disposed between two adjacent gate lines (302a, 302b) and adapted to apply a predetermined voltage, and an overlap film (601) made of a light-absorbing material, and that the overlap film (601) at least partially overlaps with the pixel electrode (304) and the auxiliary capacitor line (308), and the pixel electrode (304) is insulated from the auxiliary capacitor line (308).</p> |
