The invention relates to a die for the production of flat profiles, more particularly to a slit die for extruding green ceramic foils, wherein said die has a slit-shaped outflow (20) leading to an outlet orifice(13). The height of the slit-shaped outflow (20) becomes narrower from the immediate surrounding area of the outlet orifice (13) up to the outlet orifice (13). The die outflow (20) is preferably formed by a first lip (11) and a second lip (11') opposite thereto, said lips being spaced from one another at a first constant distance (h1) at least in certain areas outside the immediate surrounding area of the outlet orifice (13) and at a second but smaller distance (h2) relative to the first distance (h1), wherein the first distance (h1) of the lips (11, 11') becomes linearly narrower towards the second distance (h2) in the immediate surrounding area of the outlet orifice (13).
